In his youth, Michael Wolff studied classical & jazz piano as well as composition. Wolff went on and studied music at UCLA, UC Berkeley, and The Manhattan School of Music.
By nineteen, he became the sole pianist for Latin/Jazz vibist Cal Tjader. Wolff has performed and recorded with many musician greats like Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente, Charlie Byrd, and Sonny Rollins. With saxophonist Alex Foster, he co-formed and co-led the band, Answering Services. Wolff then followed with his own solo recording career. Amongst his many other accomplishments are serving as the musical director for the Arsenio Hall Show and as a pianist, an arranger and a musical director for singer Nancy Wilson.
Wolff formed his current band, Impure Thoughts after listening to Eritrea and Ethiopian music. In the last couple of years, the band released their albums: IMPURE THOUGHTS, INTOXICATE, and SEXUAL HEALING. Their latest, DANGEROUS VISION was released late last year.
